Two Girls One Vision

From complete strangers to friends, founders Faith and Fiona co-owned and operated the Porthole. This woman-owned business was born from a mutually recognized need for early morning fare in the Seward Harbor. They came to this realization despite their difference in backgrounds. Fiona had worked directly in the harbor alongside captains and deckhands, who constantly lamented the lack of breakfast options for their early morning charters. Faith, through her extensive restaurant and hospitality experience within the Seward's tourist industry, heard the same complaints. Finally, they decided to do something about it and The Porthole opened its windows in August 2020.

A lot has changed since we celebrated our fifth year anniversary! While our charismatic co-founder Fiona has caught the wind and moved on to the lower 48, The Porthole is still gaining momentum.  Today this proud woman-owned business has expanded a dedicated full espresso service at our flagship harbor location, full event catering services

and opened a second satellite location right inside of the Alaska SeaLife Center.
